Shipment Visibility

Shippers moving goods by rail lacked real-time visibility across multiple carriers and railroad networks. Data discrepancies between the TRAX platform and US railroad websites created operational gaps, requiring manual reconciliation that slowed down logistics teams.

For the core TRAX platform, developed new SmartGWT interfaces backed by Spring Boot, Struts, and Hibernate services based on evolving customer requirements. For the TRAX Exception Automation companion app, built a React and Node.js tool using Puppeteer to scrape railroad websites and automatically detect and resolve data mismatches.

TRAX is a SaaS rail freight management solution that tracks, traces, and proactively monitors shipments across multiple Class 1 and shortline railroads. As a full-stack developer at ShipXpress, I designed and built customer-facing interfaces and a supporting automation tool that kept shipment data consistent with external railroad sources.

Two-System Delivery **TRAX (core platform)** — A supply-chain software solution giving shippers secure visibility into in-transit railcar shipments. The SmartGWT frontend delivered data-dense enterprise interfaces, while the Java backend (Spring Boot, Struts 2, Hibernate) handled business logic, persistence, and integration with railroad data feeds. **TRAX Exception Automation** — A supporting application built with React, Node.js, Express, and Puppeteer. It automated the tedious process of comparing TRAX records against US railroad websites, flagging discrepancies before they impacted operations. This reduced manual reconciliation effort and improved data integrity across the platform. Both projects were delivered during my tenure as a full-stack developer at ShipXpress (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka.
